When life squeezes you hard
There’s a moment in Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians where he admits something most of us are afraid to say out loud. He says his team were “crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure” - and that they genuinely thought they wouldn’t make it through.
That’s not the tidy, triumphant Paul we sometimes picture. That’s someone who felt exactly what you and I feel in our darkest stretches. Ground down. Out of options. Barely holding on.
I think about that a lot when life presses in.
And here’s what I keep coming back to: Paul didn’t survive those seasons because he was stronger than us. He survived because he’d learned something quietly extraordinary - that when his own strength ran out, something else kicked in. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead. Alive and working in him.
That same power is available to you today.
In this week’s devotional I walk through five practical steps for when life is squeezing you hard. Not big, dramatic gestures - just honest, steady, faithful steps. Things like: praying raw and real instead of polished. Asking “Lord, what do you want me to learn?” instead of just “Why me?” Leaning on your community instead of suffering quietly.
Small steps. But they matter. Because even tiny steps of faith are a powerful act of trust.
If you’re in one of those seasons right now - or you know someone who is - I hope this helps.

God’s hope never runs out. Even at the end of the rope.
With you in it.
