In this episode of Battle Drill Devotional, we explore the power of our speech and what it says about the condition of our soul.
Words are never just words. Whether whispered in frustration or blurted out under pressure, they are mirrors of what’s stored within. Jesus said, “What you say flows from what is in your heart” (Luke 6:45, NLT). And Proverbs 14:23 (NLT) adds, “Work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty.” In other words, if we want to see meaningful change - not just in our language but in our lives - we need to start at the source: the heart and the mind.
This episode helps us take a step back from reactive words and examine the deeper truths we may be avoiding. Have your words been sharp, cynical, or draining? Are they echoing God’s love - or repeating old wounds? Through real-life examples from The Salvation Army’s ministry, we discover that true change comes not through willpower or the right vocabulary, but through a surrendered heart and a renewed mind.
You don’t have to pretend, perform, or polish your way into peace. Instead, let God begin his quiet revolution in you - from the inside out. Listen in, reflect, and invite the Holy Spirit to heal the places that shape your speech.
