What the Bible Says About Climate Change

Every headline reminds us: creation is under pressure. Floods displace families. Forests burn. Food prices rise. So what does the Bible really say about climate change?

In this short daily devotional, Salvation Army officer and pastor Rob Westwood-Payne shares a Christian perspective on creation care from Genesis 1:26 (NLT): “Then God said, ‘Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish… the birds… the livestock… and the small animals.’”

We were called to rule creation, not wreck it. But too often, we have exploited rather than stewarded. The Bible teaches that in Christ there is another way - his Kingdom is about restoration, not consumption. Small, faithful choices matter: reducing food waste, heating wisely, reusing, recycling, cutting down plastic, walking instead of driving, and praying for those already suffering.
