The thought you can't stop thinking
Dear friend.
Can I ask you something? What thought has been looping in your mind lately?
We all have them. They pop in without warning - a passing worry, a flicker of bitterness, a quiet fear. And before long they’ve taken root. They shape how we see other people. They colour our choices. They nudge us, gently but firmly, in one direction or another.
I’ve noticed this in my own walk. When I dwell on bitterness, it never stays small. It grows. It changes how I read situations, how I treat people, even how I pray. But when I dwell on grace, something shifts. I start to see God’s hand again. I begin to trust.
That’s the heart of today’s verse. Paul tells Timothy to run from what drags him down, and to chase after righteousness, faith, love and peace instead (2 Timothy 2:22). It isn’t about guilt. It isn’t about forcing a smile. It’s about direction. Because what we feed grows.
You don’t have to change everything overnight. But you can make a shift today. You can begin to feed your mind with truth, with Scripture, with grace-filled voices. And you don’t have to do it alone. We were never meant to fight this on our own.
So take a moment and take stock. Is what you’re dwelling on drawing you nearer to God, or further away?
I unpack all of this in today’s 5-minute devotional. Do come and watch - I’d love to have you along.

Grace and peace.
