The Habit You Keep Trying (and Failing) to Break
Hello friend.
Can I be honest with you? Some habits just won’t die, no matter how many fresh starts we make. We pray about it, we mean it this time, and then a few days later, we’re right back where we started. Frustrating, isn’t it? Maybe even a bit shameful.
I want to share something that has genuinely helped me. Paul told Timothy to give his full attention to the things that matter, not once, but daily and faithfully. That word “daily” is key. Lasting change rarely comes from one big breakthrough moment. It comes from small, steady faithfulness, day after day.
Even King David, one of the greatest kings in the Bible, wrestled with real strongholds in his own life. Yet Scripture tells us he grew more and more powerful, because the Lord was with him. Why? Because when David fell, he got back up, humbled himself, and returned to God again and again.
That’s the invitation for us too. Not perfection. Persistence.
So here’s a gentle question for you today: what’s one habit God might be inviting you to practise, just one small, honest step at a time?
I explore this more fully in today’s devotional. Watch the full 5-minute video here →
Grace and peace.
