Grace is still knocking - even now
Dear friend.
Have you ever missed something important? A train. A birthday. A moment you really meant to show up for - but somehow it passed you by.
I think a lot of us feel that way spiritually, too. Like we overslept. Like God moved on while we were getting our act together.
But this week I’ve been sitting with a passage from Luke 12, where Jesus tells a story about a master who comes home in the middle of the night - maybe even just before dawn. And the point of the story isn’t that the servants had to be impressive. It’s that they had to be present.
What stopped me in my tracks, though, was the grace underneath the story. Because the gospel doesn’t picture us climbing up to God, sweating and struggling. It pictures him already coming down. Already knocking. Already waiting - not with frustration, but with love.
I’ve seen this in real life. People who ran hard and fast from God - years of anger, seasons of shame - and when they finally stopped, grace was already there. Not moved an inch.
So if today you feel like you’ve overslept spiritually - like it’s too late, like you’ve blown it - I want you to hear this:
He’s still on the doorstep.
You don’t have to climb the ladder. You just have to open the door.
Today’s 5-minute devotional unpacks this gently and honestly - with a short prayer to close. I think it might be just what you need today.

Until tomorrow - God bless you, friend.
