God Doesn't Flinch at Your Mess
Shame is a whisperer. It tells us that if people knew the truth, they’d leave. Most of us spend our lives putting on a brave face, hoping no one sees the cracks.
But after 13 years of frontline ministry, I’ve seen a different truth: God’s love meets you in the mess and doesn’t look away.
In today’s Battle Drill daily devotional, we look at why we don’t need to “clean up” to come to God. We don’t perform to be accepted; we are accepted, and then He cleans us up.
Three truths to hold onto today:
Silence is shame’s fuel. Speaking to a safe friend or mentor causes shame to shrink.
You are not disqualified. Nothing you have done can push you out of God’s presence.
Grace is a gift. You can’t earn it, and you certainly don’t deserve it - that’s what makes it grace.
If you’re feeling weary or “too far gone,” listen to this: God isn’t disappointed in you. He’s ready for you.
